Season of Creation gathering in Brazil
Committing to care for creation
Beauty and joy filled the hearts of the faithful who gathered for a Season of Creation prayer service in São Paulo, Brazil. In the community of Santo André, a small Catholic assembly held a prayer service celebrating the gifts of creation and community.
During the prayer service, participants were reminded of our shared identity as children of God. An offering of bread, wine, and fruits symbolized their commitment to offering the work of human hands as a prayer of gratitude to our Creator. The faithful were also invited to renew their promise to become instruments of God’s care and love for all creatures.
May the prayers of the faithful, in Santo André and around the world, inspire care for creation through a “change in humanity” (Laudato Si’, 9). Let us open our minds and hearts so that God’s love may transform each of us and carry us on the journey as caretakers of our common home.
