Rev Dr Rachel Mash shows how the climate crisis is driving global conflict and how healing our relationship with creation has become an urgent call on every peacemaker. (Guest blog for the International Day of Peace 2023)

O day of peace that dimly shines through all our hopes and prayers and dreams, guide us to justice, truth, and love, delivered from our selfish schemes.

May swords of hate fall from our hands, our hearts from envy find release, till by God’s grace our warring* world shall see Christ’s promised reign of peace.

The Season of Creation in Sri Lanka! WOW.

Sunday School Creation Programme 10th of Sept. 2023 – Creation tide 2 – Stewards of creation. Our guest speaker helped us reflect on the salt and light from the gospel reading, sharing three points – 1) Not a world negating faith but a world affirming faith 2) Not an escapism faith but an involving faith 3) Not a professing faith but a practising faith. Once again our children had an exciting time at Sunday school as part of the Season of Creation activities. Painting coconut shell cups and using cut cloth to make various accessories, picture frames and various creative stuff was the highlight of the day. Lots of pictures; lots of fun; lots of love.

Bringing justice and peace to a new season–The 2023 Season of Creation

Archbishop Chris Harper is National Indigenous Bishop in the Anglican Church of Canada. The Season of Creation, a globally and ecumenically recognized time for prayer and care for the earth, begins Sept. 1 and is themed “Let Justice and Peace Flow” this year. The month ends with the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 30. These two events form a wonderful moment for the church, like the opening and ending of a book, and what we do in between should add to our lives and change us.
