The action of local leaders is the “ firstfruits” of hope, giving life to a better future during the Season of Creation. Communities around the world are celebrating the ecumenical season in a variety of ways: prayers, walks, clean-ups, advocacy efforts and more!

This week we tell you about two creative activities to inspire you to organize an event with your community.

  • Outdoor Mass in the Philippines

The community of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish in Bolong, Philippines, gathered for a meaningful outdoor Mass, led by Rev. Fr. Argeo V. Justol, to celebrate the Season of Creation.

The inhabitants of this region depend on marine resources. They are aware of the effects of the climate crisis, such as storm surges and rising sea levels.

The parish community joined in prayer through the Laudato Si’ Rosary, deepening their connection with creation. As a witness to their commitment to care for God’s creation, over 300 trees were blessed and planted.

These activities reflect the parish’s dedication to building resilience to climate challenges.

  • Creation Trail, in Salamanca, Spain

The XVI Pastoral Week in Salamanca, Spain, will incorporate a special space dedicated to the Season of Creation. A Creation Trail will create a unique opportunity for the faithful to reflect on our relationship with the rest of creation.

The activity will immerse participants in nature, through the word of God and the contemplation of the beauty of His work. Together, our sisters and brothers in Salamanca will make real commitments to care for this beautiful gift we’ve been given..

  • Your turn!
